The Ministry of Education, (MOE) has announced that it will offer The Jomo Kenyatta Foundation (JKF) Elimu Scholarships in 2026.
This Scholarship opportunity will be offered to needy and vulnerable learners, including those with special needs and disabilities, who are sitting for the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA).
In a notice sent to county education directors, Principal Secretary Julius Bitok said the programme is aimed at promoting equitable access to quality secondary education across the country.
The scholarships will be awarded to learners who meet the eligibility criteria and secure admission to public senior schools. Details of the selection and application process will be communicated through newspapers, including MyGov, county and sub-county education officers, as well as mainstream and social media platforms.
County directors of education have been instructed to ensure that school heads alert candidates and parents of grade 9 learners about the scholarship. Eligible learners are encouraged to watch for the official announcement and submit their applications promptly once the advertisement is released.
The scholarship advert is expected to be published immediately after the release of KJSEA results.
